MozFestEA 2015 will take place from July 17-19th, 2015 at Victoria University Kampala, Uganda with both virtual and physical participation. It will bring together more than 500 local, regional and international participants. This year Jamlab and a few other partners are joining the team to help make the event better and bigger than before because they believe it will make a difference in how we live today. There will be several tracks and sessions such as education, open data, open technologies, security, open data, digital literacy, social innovation, the web and culture. The first day will be a day for showcasing already built technologies and completed prototypes from last year, the remaining two days will be for vigorous collaborative hacking, making, learning and connecting. “We are creating a platform for more radical innovations to change the lives of the people in Africa, together for 3 days we can learn, build and effect change but we need all the help and support we can get. We hope every hand out there can lend their skill to our cause and help the child today become the leader and problem solver of tomorrow, to help the innovators today drive the gears of change and support in the next years.” a statement from the event’s organizing committee said.
How to get involved
You can sign up on Eventbrite and join them for a weekend of hacking, designing, peer learning and social innovation. Tickets are free and give you access to the event all weekend. You can also submit a session to take place over the MEA festival weekend. You can facilitate more than one session or sessions from different tracks in which you have demonstrated expertise. All sessions submitted will be evaluated by the MEA team and a final list of accepted proposals will be listed on their site.
