The new rate is effective 1 April 2019 and applies to all local networks. This means that MTN customers will be able to call customers from Airtel Uganda, Africell Uganda and MTN Uganda at the same rate. The standard per second rate will now be UGX 4/= and the per minute rate UGX 180/=. However, these changes do not apply for postpaid customers or when using voice bundles (My Pakapaka, Go-Bundle and Paka Paka).
