This tablet spots a 10.5-inch, 1920×1200 display, slightly larger than its predecessor, the Tab A7. The display is the major selling point of this tablet. The 10.5-inch size is perfect for gaming and binge-watching movie on your favorite movie streaming platforms like Netflix. The tablet has an 80% screen-to-body ratio and a visible black bezel around the display. Around the tablet, there’s a quad-speaker array that supports Dolby Atmos, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-C port for charging. There are no fingerprint sensor on the tablet. The Galaxy A8 comes with an undisclosed octa-core chipset, and will be supported by a 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of internal storage (depending on the model you go for). It also comes with a microSD card slot that lets you expand your internal storage space to 1TB, on all variants. Another interesting feature on the Galaxy Tab A8 is its battery. It spots a 7,040 mAh non-removable battery that supports 15W fast charging. Furthermore, you’ve got a 5MP front-facing camera (It supports face unlock) and an 8MP rear camera.
