Now many of course might disagree with my top 5 as these aren’t the only geeky TV Shows out there and yes I know that but if I were to pick, The top 5 geeky tv shows we will always love in no particular order would be;
The Big Bang Theory
The Big Bang Theory a CBS TV show may down right be the geekiest and most comical show ever. With main stars Johnny Galecki as Leonard and Jim Parsons as Sheldon, Kaley Cuoco as Penny, Kunal Nayar as Rajesh, Mayim Balik as Amy Farrah Fowler and Melissa Rauch as Bernadette. The plot revolves around how two geeky room mates and their friends relate to their hot new blonde neighbour across the hall (Penny) who is the total opposite of who they are. The most interesting part is how the geeky friends who claim to have a working knowledge of the Universe fail at social situations and very basic common knowledge in which Penny the waiter/actress who didn’t finish community college seems to excel at.
Numb3rs
You know one of those shows that make you admire the FBI who according to Hollywood have evolved way too much in crime fighting techniques and strategies. CBS’s Numbers is one of the shows. Starring Charlie Eppes (David Krumholtz) and Don Eppes (Rob Morrow) as the main characters, the story is one of a mathematical genius who uses equations and logic to help his FBI brother solve crimes.
Bones
Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and special agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) star in Fox’s “Bones. Not your everyday series, Bones explores a would be boring theme turning into a must watch series. Once again there was a lot of fancy and futuristic software where It was possible to reconstruct a person’s image from just skeletal remains that then helps them determine how the person was killed. All the hardcore science is softened by lots of humor and a possible romance between Dr. Temperance and Seely Booth that seems to never happen.
24
It’s hard to find a fan of TV series who didn’t watch 24 or doesn’t know Jack Bauer the Terror fighting superhero. The multiple award winning show has 68 Emmy nominations winning 20 among other awards. The TV show has had 8 successful seasons and the latest (Season 9) called Live another day which also received positive reviews. “Season one begins at 12:00 am on the day of the California presidential primary. Jack Bauer’s protocol is to protect Senator David Palmer from an assassination plot, and rescue his own family from those responsible for the plot, who seek retribution for Jack’s and Palmer’s involvement with a covert American mission in the Balkans.” Right from Season One to the latest, they have managed to keep it fresh and captivating despite the plot being the same. There’s this know it all Special Agent who always swoops in to save the day. 24 became so popular that there are even 24 branded video games and merchandise worldwide
Chuck
Zachary Levi plays Chuck Bartowski; a computer geek at the Buy More a large retail store more like Game Stores here. Chuck turned a CIA agent after an old college friend sent him an e-mail containing encoded government images that he downloaded into his brain by mistake and now he must use his knowledge to help the government stop assassins from targeting the US. The comic show tells you a story of a nerd herd by day and CIA agent by night who is terribly in love with his colleague (Sarah Walker) meant to protect him. The balance between being a goofy CIA agent with a hilarious best friend (Morgan Grimes) and a beautiful sister Ellie weave a very delicate and fascinating story as he tries to protect those he loves. It gets better when they show a complicated relationship between Sarah Walker, a highly trained agent who had a difficult childhood and Chuck the naive nerd. Image: http://blog.teamtreehouse.com/
